Located within the national park, the Discovery Centre at the Botanic Garden showcases Norfolk Island nature as it is now and as it once was, before the arrival of European settlers and invasive species.
Exhibits here tell stories about our island’s geological history, as well as our native plant and wildlife species, many of which can’t be found anywhere else on the planet. Discover plants that are unique to Norfolk Island, such as the rare Phillip Island hibiscus and towering tree ferns, believed to be the tallest ferns in the world.
Don’t leave without heading up to the rooftop viewing area, which looks out across the Botanical Gardens. The Discovery Centre and the gardens are best visited together.
