Norfolk Island Botanic Garden

Native forest, rare species, and an easy way to explore the island’s wild side.

The Botanic Garden forms part of Norfolk Island National Park and showcases the island’s unique biodiversity in a compact, accessible setting. Covering 5.5 hectares, the gardens feature plants native to the island – many of which are found nowhere else on Earth.

A short boardwalk trail winds through subtropical rainforest, past towering Norfolk pines and giant tree ferns. Interpretive signs help you learn about local species along the way. If you’re lucky, you may hear or glimpse the Norfolk Island green parrot – a rare conservation success story.

The gardens are also home to the Discovery Centre, where you’ll find information about Norfolk’s native species, conservation programs, and the dramatic neighbouring landscapes of Phillip Island.
