Tucked along Norfolk’s spectacular south coast, this 5.5-hectare reserve is a peaceful pocket of coastal forest, tidal rock pools and rare native flora. Known affectionately as Bumby, it’s where locals come to reconnect with nature – whether that means spotting seabirds from the boardwalk, hunting for crabs in the pools, or sharing a barbecue under the pines.
Take the short trail down to the rocky beach for sweeping ocean views and a front-row seat to Phillip Island. You’ll also find some of the island’s most fascinating plants here, including the endangered Norfolk Island euphorbia.
Plan a family picnic – there’s a barbecue and shaded tables for public use.
Avoid after rain – the access road is steep and not sealed.
