Radio Norfolk is the island’s community radio station, broadcasting in FM 89.9 and AM 1566 bands – the station commenced back in the 1960’s.
The station is an essential service currently funded by the NI Regional Council.
The service provides local news and weather forecasts, Council updates, aircraft arrivals, shipping news, radio interviews, a great mix of music to suit all tastes and much more.
When required the station will broadcast out of hours when there are important alerts such as cyclones. The station is non-commercial and relies on Sponsorship support. The Norfolk Island Broadcasting Service also includes the television services for the island.
Radio Norfolk is live to air every day from 7am. Monday to Friday broadcasting live until 12.15pm and then switching to a split broadcast 89.9FM playlist of great music and 1566AM Radio New Zealand National.
Saturday the split broadcast is from 12 noon and Sunday from 9am.
